Pierrefonds: day one; a very very brief report

Bonsoir! This is the briefest of posts before I rush out for my saucisse and moutarde...

There was indeed filming today, though it was mostly tucked away out of sight. So I only ended up taking a couple of photos of a knightly actor practising his swordfighting. I'm sure there will be posts from other more energetic fans to fill your photographic needs.

It was great to see our Locations regulars [livejournal.com profile] yavannauk, [livejournal.com profile] valderys and [livejournal.com profile] chayiana on duty, along with many other familiar faces. I also got to spend some lovely time with [livejournal.com profile] claddagh_girl and her family.

The mood from everyone was very happy and excited - fans, cast and crew, Chateau staff. It was all a-buzz this morning!

Colin, Bradley, Angel, Rupert, Tom Hopper, Ben Daniels and Nathaniel Parker were all there. I'm probably forgetting someone. Also Alice Troughton, Dale McCready, Julian Murphy, Medium-sized Jay, Stumpy, Alice (2AC), Marie, and other lovely faces...

Best of all! Late in the afternoon, Jeremy Webb showed up! I was so happy! He's directing eps 10 and 11. Woot!

Anyway! Here's a couple of photos of Tom fighting some evil dudes... Julian is also in one of them.

Anyway! Sorry for the lame post. I mostly just wanted to squee about our Jeremy being back!

Also, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] yavannauk, I found the location of the sword in the stone... I'll be posting about that later tonight.

Glad to hear you are there. Take lots of pictures. Also have a quick question. When you park near the castle, do you have to pay for parking and how does it work if you do?

I'm still debating whether to hire a car next time I go to Pierrefonds and that helps a lot. I didn't want to have to figure out how the car park fees worked.

Oh, that's good to know. I would likely get there earlier just to see if there was any filming going on (that happened once where we got there at 8:30AM and they were already filming). I'd like to see the chateau lit up at night and have the freedom to decide when it's time to go back rather than decide way ahead of time (to arrange a cab) and then miss out on something.

When I looked at the top photo, my first though was'why are there ninja's on the balcony with Percival?'

Hope you're having a lovely time in Camelot ♥

Haha! Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that! =p

You're so sweet for thinking of me. That's ok if you didn't manage to take pics of Angel. I know how hard it is to take photos of the cast when they're filming indoors. Thanks for all your lovely pics and reports! <333

The only person you left out was Miranda Raison.

And I'm still amused by the concept of Medium-sized J!! :-)

Jeremy Webb is great. His episodes are always my favorite, which gives us some of the best Arthur and Merlin.

That's great news. I just love him. Jeremy is a big fan of Arthur and Merlin. And I think he was doing a really good job with the chemistry between Bradley and Colin.

It was lovely too meet you, too. We may have to do that again some time if you are up for it? You need more Yorkshire lessons anyway, right? ;o)
