Future locations: Dyffryn Gardens and Castell Coch

Thanks go to feilongfan, who alerted us to the fact that Merlin had been filming at Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan near Cardiff. I went to visit last weekend, and while I was in the area I swung by Castell Coch as well. On the off-chance, I asked a staff member at the castle whether Merlin had ever filmed there - and was lucky enough to discover that not only was the staff member a Merlin fanboy himself, but they had filmed in the woods just off the carpark quite recently!
