There's a new ABC tv series called Galavant and I was watching the trailer and just noticed so many Merlin locations. I always get excited about stuff like that! I was able to spot Caerphilly and Cosmeston Medieval Village and I'm sure I'm missing a lot. Anyway, it looks completely ridiculous. But in a good way.

The awesome Shell attended WizardCon in Madrid last weekend, and has written up a report for the website. I'm sure you'll enjoy reading it, and seeing the photos! It looks like the Knights were in fine form. ♥

Join us in Pierrefonds for our second annual Merlin Meet Up! The village is holding a medieval fair, so there'll be lots to enjoy quite apart from meeting up with your fellow fans and reliving old memories. Read this post on the website for a full report on last year's Meet Up!

Thank you to Sarah for making it happen all over again!

Screening on Sky Arts 1 in the UK on Thursday 5 June, and repeated on Wednesday 11 June at 10:30pm: Richard Wilson to appear as John in an episode of Playhouse Presents titled Space Age along with Simon Callow | TV one-off episode, comedy, June 2014 release | sky.com, imdb.com

Sorry for the short notice. I missed this episode when it was first screened last week, but it's repeated tonight. It sounds rather wonderful! And it's nigh on impossible to complain about the cast. :-)

Blurb: Eager to escape the indignity and hopelessness of their nursing homes, John (Richard) and Dudley (Simon) volunteer for a space mission that aims to seek out and prepare new planets for human settlement. Working alternate solo shifts, they battle isolation and loneliness as they spend months travelling the galaxy, with their only company being Iris, the starship's temperamental computer (voiced by Richard Vaughn).

And news of something a little further off:

Supanova, Australia | Adelaide 21-23 November, Brisbane 28-30 November | supanova.com.au

These conventions include guests Eoin Macken and Alexander Vlahos.

Soccer Aid, Manchester | 8 June | unicef.org.uk/soccer-aid

Apologies for the short notice, but our own dear Santiago Cabrera is playing as a celebrity on the Rest of the World team for this worthy cause - along with James McAvoy and Jeremy Renner.

Myself and Mr Mod were lucky enough to see all nine plays in Tonight at 8:30 on Saturday, featuring our splendiferous Rupert. I blogged about it here on my Rupert site. I'd very much recommend you going if you like a singing-dancing swoonsome Rupert... and who doesn't? If you can only go to one of the three shows, make it Trio 1 or Trio 3!

Meanwhile, the news is that Rupert is somehow involved with the cinema event Matisse Live from the Tate Modern, which is broadcasting into UK cinemas on Tuesday 3 June. You can see the Tweet confirming his involvement here, and the webpage about the show here.

Just a quick note to say that I've reported on the con that happened today ... yesterday now! In Cardiff. At which Rupert was his usual lovely self. ♥

The report is on the Rupert F Young website here, and a gallery of images is here.

I hope you enjoy!

I had a great day at the theatre yesterday, and particularly enjoyed seeing Alex Vlahos in Fortune's Fool. I have posted to the Merlin Locations website about it here, if you'd care to read!

{bursts into song} You make me so very happy, I'm so glad you came into my li-i-ife!

Every now and then I think that Rupert snuck in and completely stole my heart... and then I see something like this, with many many thanks to the wonderful arthurmerlinfan on Twitter, and I remember how that felt - to exchange smiles with Colin - and I realise that Colin still owns my soul... So that's all right then.

Bruce and I have just spent a few days in Dublin, which was terrific despite the cold and windy weather – full of serendipitous moments for Locations Geeks!

North Bull Island

It all started off promisingly as we flew in on Thursday, and I was gazing out the plane window at the Poolbeg Generating Station and North Bull Island, both Parked locations. We collected our hire car, checked in to the hotel, and then promptly headed out to North Bull Island.

Which is as good a time as any to thank Aggy and Cuddles for finding so many of these locations for us! Couldn’t have done this without you, girls. ♥

There was a beautiful late–afternoon light there as we arrived, but unfortunately the sun disappeared behind some thick clouds soon after – and the wind off the Irish Sea was bitingly cold – so we really didn’t catch the location at its best! Despite the wind, we walked out along the sea wall to the third bathing shelter, which I am now certain is the one they used when filming. It was such a thrill to be there!

A conveniently beanie–hatted man walks past the bathing shelter. (Actually I was soon wishing I’d taken a beanie myself, as my hair basically looked windswept the entire time we were in Dublin, not to mention strands of it flying past the camera lens whenever I was trying to take a shot!)

My mate [livejournal.com profile] nenimefish has two spare tickets for Mojo on Saturday afternoon evening (got this wrong, sorry, my bad) - and if this cold I have gets any worse, I may need to make mine available as well, but we'll see about that!

Please contact either her or me if you would like to take advantage of them...
