Puzzlewood revisited...

merlinlocationsMerlin returned to beautiful Puzzlewood in episode 203 The Nightmare Begins, in which Puzzlewood stepped in for the home of the Druids in the Forest of Ascetir.
Some of the chase scenes towards the end of the episode seem to have been filmed in the areas of Puzzlewood that are made public. For example, perhaps Arthur led his knights through the path in the photo below.
But I suspect that much of the rest - the clearing where Merlin sets a fire, and the actual location of the Druids' camp or village - is nearby. There is more woodland in that area than we tourists generally get to see, though I am sure we are seeing lots of the most interesting (and accessible) sites. Just a theory!
It is all so very beautiful. There are so many things to love about this fandom. Puzzlewood is one of them.
