I wouldn't presume to apologise for taking so long to write up this report, seeing as your photographic and reportage needs have been met so well by so many already! But I am sorry, nevertheless. After I spent a wonderful week in Pierrefonds with [livejournal.com profile] asifidletyou and Mr L, the three of us had a magical weekend in Paris with our dear friends [livejournal.com profile] babydracky and [livejournal.com profile] souzoukyuuketsu - and then I was barely home long enough to do a bit of laundry before I was away again for the following week for work. So this weekend is really the first chance I've had to properly catch up…

But enough about such mundane matters! I realise not everyone is as vitally interested in my supply of clean clothes as I am, so on with the pretties!

We were in Pierrefonds from Tuesday 7 September through to the Friday night. As you'll have gathered, this wasn't a very fruitful time to be there, especially if your main interest is in the boys. Tuesday was a crew-only set-up day, which was busy and interesting in its own right. Wednesday was so rainy that all the filming took place indoors, though we were lucky enough to watch Bradley and Rupert practicing a swordfight with Andreas and various others, including Eoin (Gawain), in the courtyard.

Thursday featured some filming on the grassy area in front of the castle, which included Colin and Richard. There wasn't really a good place from which to watch, though, and I only got a couple of long-distance photos. We were lucky enough to exchange greetings with Colin as he walked by {gasp}, and omg on his way back he glanced at me with those blue blue eyes of his {swoons}, but that was the one-and-only Colin!moment of the trip! Then of course that afternoon Colin and Bradley were off back to London for the evening! I had to laugh - when I first heard they might be doing that, I'm all, 'Nah… they'll be doing a live feed, or it's pre-recorded. Why would they send them back home in the middle of three days of filming in France…?' I forgot my first rule of filming (and indeed promotional work), which is that the normal rules of logic don't apply. :-D

Friday was the best day for me, though. We got to watch some serious stuff being filmed in the courtyard, involving Bradley, Tony, Katie and a pyre. Someone was due to be burned at the stake… (Those of you who want to know who, will have already found out, I'm sure!) Katie was lots of fun, and kept us entertained with little dances and so on. Meanwhile, Rupert was filming some action scenes in a grassy, lightly wooded area just below the Chateau, with Jeremy along with four extras on horses, some knights of Camelot, and the requisite smoke machine. That all looked pretty exciting, though it was hard to tell, really, what was going on.

Friday was my day for interactions! Rupert said hello and waved as he arrived. I spoke with Andreas for a few minutes, and asked him to sign my favourite of the photos I've taken of him. Then the same with my hero Dale. I felt very privileged to chat with Katie for a few minutes as well, while she was waiting on cast/crew to catch up with her. She remembered my name from our previous brief meetings, bless her!

And then, best of all - after a long day of filming, Jeremy stops by [livejournal.com profile] asifidletyou and me on his way into the Chateau, and talks with us for so very much longer than anyone could have expected from him or even hoped for. He asked how we'd enjoyed our time there, and spoke a bit about what was going on. He also said (without any prompting from us) how pleased he'd been with Rupert's work that day, and that Rupert himself had been delighted to have a bit of fannish attention for himself - which was really kind and thoughtful of Jeremy to pass on. Talk about feeling validated… :-D I managed to convey something of how impressed I'd been by what Rupert had managed to achieve with very little screentime during the second season, and Jeremy said they'd been making much more use of him in the third. Hurrah! And, um, I'm going all blank and squeeful again just trying to remember what else… Anyway. Someone obviously brought Jeremy up right, bless them all! ♥

I didn't take as many photos as last time, and the best ones are of Tony, Katie and Rupert. You really do take your chances with these things! I hope you enjoy these…

I've uploaded more to a Flickr set, and hi-res copies to Photobucket. Please feel free to snag and use, but comments and credit are love. ♥ In particular, I'd love to see the results if anyone cares to make icons! ♥

That's not very medieval

Thanks for the pretty pix and report. <3

My favourite photo you haven't included here is of Leon and the knights at the top of the grassy knoll with the crew strewn all over the place below them! The reality beneath the fantasy.

Gorgeous photos as always and I may very well snag some for icons. I loved those ones of Tony, Katie and the umbrella.

How lovely that Jeremy talked to you for a while and how kind to pass on the news that Rupert was enjoying the fannish attention.

The second week was definitely the one to be there for, and ended perfectly with a Colin scene literally one metre away from us!

Was lovely to see so much more of Rupert as well.

Great pics. :)
