Another wonderful episode, though fairly focussed in terms of locations.
♦ There was great use made of the Chateau de Pierrefonds and the Cardiff sets. In particular, the opening scene of the fight with the bandits was filmed in the area below the Chateau. I am assuming this was filmed on the Friday back in May when we fans were asked to stay away for safety's sake - and it's easy to see why with so many actors, extras, horses, and stunts involved.
♦ And of course there was dear Puzzlewood again! I think it's been in every episode this year, hasn't it? This included some of the early scenes with Arthur helping Merlin away from the fight, and then getting ambushed. (Just as they got that chasm cleared from Percival's rock fall, Merlin goes and fills it up again! Typical!) And then of course the scenes with Morgana and Emrys were also filmed there.
♦ There were some nice forest scenes on a fairly open track, but I don't think we'll be able to pin those down. But it all looked just gorgeous!
P.S. OMG Arthur finally hugged him, and Merlin's not going to remember a thing about it!!!

Date: 2011-11-06 02:53 pm (UTC)Wait, did I just type I recognised Pierrefonds trees?
Merlin isn't going to remember the hug - and wasn't it wonderful that Arthur was so elated to see Merlin alive that he hugged him whereas he was all filthy and smelly and didn't even comment on that? - but he's going to remember Arthur telling him he's incredibly brave and loyal :o)
I've been reading all the tweets/reports from Brisbane and I'm in the same mood as when Xmas is getting near. Someone help me.
Oh hell, I don't want any help.

Date: 2011-11-12 11:41 pm (UTC)Yes, you are absolutely right. Arthur really came through for Merlin in this ep, and there is no way Merlin couldn't know that.
And meanwhile Colin and Australia are in love with each other...
It doesn't get much better than this... You're right that you don't need any help at all. ♥

Date: 2011-11-12 11:44 pm (UTC)Ah, that's really cool about the photos! Would you like to do a post to the comm? I'm sure people would love to see them! Also, if you upload them to flickr, you'd be very welcome to add them to the Merlin Locations group.
Thank you for sharing! ♥

Date: 2011-11-18 12:45 am (UTC)You'd be very welcome to do a post to the community, even if it's just with a link back to your journal. It's great to see the shots of Morgana's 'hovel' - and also Dale! :-D
Yes, you would need your own account on flickr to post the photos there, but of course sticking with LJ is fine, too!
Thanks again for this!

Date: 2011-12-02 12:24 am (UTC)OK, so creating a link... What you do is copy the full URL address, so you have it on your clipboard. Then go to your post, and select (or highlight) the word 'here'. Then click on the Link button in the text toolbar. (You need to be in the Rich Text tab. The Link button is the little world or globe with an infinity sign below it.) Then paste the copied address into the URL field. (It will automatically deal with the http:// part of it; just paste the whole thing.) Click OK, and you're done!
I hope that helps, hon. ♥
